Childcare Sage Custom Functions and Reports

The Childcare Sage is very complete and has many features and functions to run your center. Over the years we have found that some centers need unique and specific functions to help them get better organized and save them a lot of time. We are the only company that offers custom function development for our Childcare Sage. This can mean a specific report that shows information in a certain way, functions that let you remotely enter information, or a multi-part process to help you run your center. Examples of some of the custom functions we have created include:

1) A standalone child journal program that a center can copy onto a USB stick drive and give to staff. The staff can then use any computer to fill out journal entries for children including milestones, progress reports, and evaluations. The center would then plug the USB stick into the Childcare Sage computer, hit a button, and all of the entries would be transferred to the appropriate child's records in the Childcare Sage.

The child journal program simply copies the journal functionality already in the Childcare Sage. The purpose of the stand alone journal is so staff can fill it out at any time, and that staff will not have to be in the main Childcare Sage to create the journal entries.

2) Custom meal reimbursement tables for Arkansas that separate meal counts based on age group and center.

Different states have different requirements for meal counts, meal breakdowns, and how meals are counted. Although most states have the same requirements, several states are different. Creating these custom reports save the centers at least 6 to 8 hours each month.

3) Custom timeclock for use at a camp where children and staff can sign into any one of ten non-networked computers, and custom functionality to then combine all of the timesheets from the different computers into complete records. This functionality was later added into the Timeclock Link that comes with the childcare sage.

We are happy to adapt our Childcare Sage to meet our user's needs.

4) A standalone meals checklist database that a center can copy onto a USB stick drive and give to a staff member. The staff member can then use a netbook to walk around and record meals that each child is eating. The center would then plug the USB stick in the Childcare Sage computer, hit a button, and all of the meal records would be transferred to the appropriate child's records in the Childcare Sage.

Most centers manually do these types of activities, usually more than once by different staff members. Automating the process to be once saves time and money for the center.

We normally charge between $150 and $250 to develop these functions, which is very modest considering the number of hours that go into creating these custom functions.
